Welcome to Keter Torah Synagogue

Keter Torah Synagogue SanctuaryKeter Torah Synagogue, formerly known as the Sephardic Community of Greater Detroit, was founded in 1917 by Hazan Jacob and Judith Chicorel from Izmir, Turkey. It is the only Sephardic synagogue in Michigan.

Ashkenazim and Sephardim alike continue to enjoy the Sephardic melodies chanted at every service. Members have been welcomed from more than 20 different countries.

Our kehila, located on the NW corner of Orchard Lake Road and Walnut Lake Road, in West Bloomfield, MI, opened in 2002. Services are run in the traditional Sephardic manner. Services are held every Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. See calendar for times.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Members and Friends:

Feel free to use this as a fundraising mechanism with any and all of your contacts here and abroad.  This is a very powerful message, and one that resonates with all displaced Jews trying to maintain their identity and position themselves to continue on through the generations.  We are not unique in that regard.  Please download and distribute the speech as you see fit in order to fight for our cause, the perpetuation of Keter Torah Synagogue, and our not so unique way of celebrating our Judaism.
